List of Personal Email Domains: Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook and More

List cleaningBy David Ray3 min readUpdated October 2026

A personal email domain is one that anybody can sign up for: gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, icloud.com and the addresses internet providers hand out, like comcast.net. A business domain belongs to one company, like northwindrealty.com.

Telling the two apart is useful. Sales teams use it to find which leads gave a work address. Sign-up forms use it to ask for a work email. And anyone cleaning a list can use it to split a messy export into "people" and "companies" before deciding what to send to whom.

Below is a list of 107 common personal email domains, grouped by region, and a free CSV you can drop straight into Excel or Google Sheets.

No list like this is ever complete. There are thousands of small free providers and regional variations, like yahoo.de or hotmail.nl. These cover the addresses you will see most often on a US or English-language list. If a domain keeps turning up in your own lists, add it to your copy.

Personal doesn't mean bad

A Gmail address is not a warning sign by itself. Plenty of real customers, and plenty of small businesses, use Gmail or Yahoo for everything. A realtor, a contractor or a one-person shop may never have had a company domain.

So use the list to sort, not to delete. Common reasons to split personal from business addresses:

  • B2B outreach: a work address usually reaches the person in their work role, and tells you which company they're with.
  • Lead quality: on a "request a demo" form, a work address often means a more serious inquiry.
  • Different messages: consumers and business buyers often need different emails.

How to flag personal emails in Excel or Google Sheets

  1. Download the CSV and paste its domains into a new tab called Personal, in column A.
  2. In your list, add a column that pulls out the domain. If the email is in A2, use =LOWER(TRIM(MID(A2,FIND("@",A2)+1,255))).
  3. Add a second column that checks the domain against the list: =IF(COUNTIF(Personal!A:A,B2)>0,"Personal","Business").
  4. Fill both formulas down, then filter on the new column.
fx=IF(COUNTIF(Personal!A:A,B2)>0,"Personal","Business")ABC1EmailDomainType2[email protected]gmail.comPersonal3[email protected]northwindrealty.comBusiness4[email protected]comcast.netPersonal5[email protected]harborlogistics.comBusiness6[email protected]icloud.comPersonalPersonal (free or ISP address)Business (company domain)
Column B pulls out the domain; column C looks it up in the Personal tab. Filter column C to see each group.

Both formulas work in Excel and Google Sheets. If an address has no @ the first formula shows an error, which is useful too: that row needs fixing. Our free List Fixer and typo guide help with those.

Personal domains vs disposable domains

Don't mix these up. A personal domain like Gmail is a real, long-term inbox. A disposable domain gives out throwaway addresses that stop working within minutes or days. People use them to grab a download without giving their real email. Disposable addresses are worth removing; personal ones usually aren't. Our guide to stopping fake sign-ups covers disposable addresses.

Personal or business, the address still has to exist

Sorting by domain tells you what kind of address it is. It can't tell you whether the mailbox is real. [email protected] passes every format check whether or not Jane exists.

Frequently asked questions

Is this list of personal email domains free to use?

Yes. Download the CSV and use it in your own spreadsheets, forms or tools. No signup needed.

Are internet provider addresses like comcast.net personal?

Yes. Addresses from internet and phone providers, like comcast.net, att.net or btinternet.com, belong to households, not companies, so they count as personal.

Should I block personal emails on my sign-up form?

Only if you truly sell to businesses alone. Blocking Gmail and Yahoo turns away many genuine small businesses. A softer option is to ask for a work email and accept either.

Is a Gmail address less likely to be real?

No. Gmail addresses are as real as any other, but they can be made up just as easily. The only way to know whether a specific mailbox exists is to check it.
